Eye Care You Can Count On in Sacramento,California

I am so glad I found EYEcenter Optometric. I have somewhat complicated vision insurance, which must be billed through my medical plan. I have had the hardest time finding a place that is willing to take my insurance. I booked my appointment online, which was super easy, and when I didn't get a phone call saying they didn't find my insurance I assumed I was good to go. I found EYEcenter through my insurance portal so I knew they would be preferred providers. Sure enough, I show up and they tell me right away there was a problem finding my insurance. Of course, I was disappointed by yet another rejection. However, much to my surprise both the person who checked me in and the tech (I regret I don't recall their names) took the extra time (at least 15 minutes) to figure out the issue and they found my insurance plan and were able to help me! I was ecstatic! By this time, it was easily 20 minutes past my appointment time, but they still took care of me AND they were nice about it!!! No one made me feel bad, and no one seemed frustrated with me or the situation. On top of that Dr. Jansen Coen has to honestly be one of the first eye doctors that has actually listened to my concerns about my contacts not feeling right (I've been in contacts/glasses for 20+years). He was kind, patient and is insistent on helping make sure I can truly see better. I left feeling like I am going to have better vision and they will work to make sure that happens. I am still in trial contacts, and I think we might be there quite yet with perfect vision, but I feel super confident that I will be much happier once we've got it dialed in. I would recommend any and every one try their practice. Thank you so much to everyone involved!

Welcoming staff, thorough explanations of the exams and tests and really they have a very patient gentleman that helped me pick out my frames. He didn’t hurry me and gave a bunch of different and honest options. Overall great experience!! I highly recommend!

Was in yesterday for a VA referral. Brought my service dog in as it started to heat up outside in the car. From the moment walking in, interacting with the front desk, working with Jessica then meeting the young optometrist... Absolutely amazing professional experience! Under the Dr's leadership, Eyecenter on J. St Sacramento is the epitome of professionalism and a model for every small business. These people are going places! Thanks Team!

Much better than my old optometrist. It was a little hard to get there because of the location but the assistant was very welcoming and so was the doctor. Didn't make me feel like I was dumb or try to overcharge me. They were very transparent with what I would be paying out of pocket after my insurance

This team is amazing! They are not only professional, they are kind and treat their patients like people and not just another number. I am always pleased at each visit.

I had an emergency today.. My son's glasses had a lense fall out while it was being stored for him at the Sutter Hospital!! He is practically blind without his glasses.. I googled glasses repair in the immediate area and Eyecenter Optometric showed to be .2 of a mile! I walked over there with the glasses.. The receptionist was so friendly and she repaired his glasses in no time! And she refused any form of a payment!! WOW!! BEST SERVICE EVER!! Oh, she gave me a small bottle of lens cleaning solution and an eye glass cloth!!

I was experiencing pain, irritation, and discomfort in my left eye. Unfortunately, I was misdiagnosed with allergic conjunctivitis at urgent care. Due to my ongoing pain and irritation, I decided to visit EYEcenter, where Dr. Jansen Cohen quickly identified and removed small debris from my cornea. I feel so much better now! The staff was friendly, and Dr. Cohen was both efficient and helpful.

I really thought it was great that the Doctor explained about eyes and used the image of my eyes as reference. When I tried on the "glasses" he was writing a Rx for I couldn't believe how clear everything was. Both the Doctor and the staff had good energy, the facility was very clean and their little eye glass card holder was awesome. I can't wait to get my new glasses and read and see things clearly. It was definitely a two thumbs up experience.

From the moment I arrived, the experience was calm and seamless. Everyone—from the front desk to the optometrist to the eyewear specialist—was professional, kind, and attentive. Dr Jansen Coen is extremely friendly and helpful and I can’t think any way an OD could have been better. They accommodated my request for appointment today on very short notice, making space for the last slot as I asked. Truly one of the most considerate and well-run optometry practices I’ve visited.

The most thorough and most amazing set of people work here! Never have I ever had such a great time taking care of my eyes. And I learned a few new things that may have been missed at my eye exams in the past. Can't wait to see you guys next time!

I needed a new prescription, like yesterday. While looking for optometrists that took walk ins (I doubt that’s even a thing) I came across EYEcenter who has convenient online booking and an opening for the next day! Every employee that encountered was lovely and professional. My visit was very thorough, utilizing modern technology to get extensive data on my vision and eye health. Dr. Jansen Coen finalized my prescription very patiently, double and even triple checking what lens I felt was the clearest. I am very satisfied with the quality of care and attention that I received at this business and would recommend this office.
