The movement of our eyes tells a lot about where our attention is and what our brain is doing. Where do we look? What do we look at, and how much time do we spend looking at it? How do our pupils react to different kinds of visual stimulation? When exactly do we blink? Researchers sometimes study eye movements in relation to psychology, marketing, and even retail shopping--but EYEcenter is excited about the implications of eye-tracking for a different reason.
We are excited to introduce RightEye, the eye-tracking technology that will help EYEcenter’s vision therapy department better assess, diagnose and quantify visual processing issues in patients of all ages and vision levels. RightEye’s eye-tracking tests and training can provide EYEcenter optometrists with a total view of their patient’s vision health in just minutes.
This technology can help us better qualify visual processing skills like eye teaming, tracking and focusing. The performance exercises in our system are tailored to assist, assess and train visual skills vision related to reading, comprehensive vision, autism, concussions, and Parkinson’s. RightEye tests and training solutions have also been found to assess and improve the vision performance and results of sports teams, the military and law enforcement.
RightEye will be used to further enhance our vision therapy department, an established part of EYEcenter for over fifty years. We receive referrals from many professionals-- including optometrists, ophthalmologists, physicians, psychologists, educators and rehabilitation specialists-- for the diagnosis and treatment of a myriad of vision conditions that can’t be addressed with glasses or contacts.
Vision therapy can greatly help develop or enhance visual processing skills like focusing, tracking and eye coordination. Since problems with these aspects of vision can have negative effects on a myriad of lifestyle functions, particularly with learning—many children experience problems in school due to issues with these vision skills.
We used RightEye to track the vision of Bryson, one of our vision therapy patients. It’s how we discovered he was backtracking and skipping lines when he read to compensate for double vision. We were then able to give him exercises to train his eyes and correct the issue, completely changing Bryson’s reading experience. See his testimonial below, and call us today to find out more about RightEye and our vision therapy program. It could be a fit for you or a student in your life.
