Dr. Fuerst is the founder of PLEC Management Group, Inc., and serves as chief executive officer, overseeing the company’s nine laser centers. In fiscal year 2004, the company expects to derive revenue of $15 million.
Dr. Dr. Fuerst has been an Investigator of Record for the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). He is a partner/owner of a seven doctor, three-office, $3.8 million eye care practice, as well. Dr. Fuerst is the Executive Director for Vision of Hope, a not-for-profit organization designed to provide vision to children. Dr. Fuerst is a principle with ChemBio Medical, Inc, working with Dr. John Fenn, the 2002 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry, on cornea repair technology. Dr. Fuerst is former President of Maximum Performance, Inc. and holds a patent on StrobeSpex (US Patent 5,478,239). He is also the optometrist for the Sacramento Kings (NBA). Dr. Fuerst has led professional athletic vision evaluations for the NBA Pre-draft players for four years (1994-1997), as well as four different NBA teams. Additionally, Dr. Fuerst has overseen medical mission trips to Mexico to deliver eye care.
Personal
Dr. Fuerst received a B.S. degree in Biology and an O.D. (Doctor of Optometry) degree from Pacific University. He has co-authored Good to Go, a book published by the Harper Collins Corporation in 1997.
